Rick's Aviation Page

I have been interested in aviation for some time. After years of being a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association [AOPA] and Experimental Aircraft Association [EAA], I'm still not one bit closer to being a pilot or building my own plane. Hopefully maintaining this part of the website for that little dream will motivate me to make some level of progress towards achieving it before I'm too old to do anything about it.

After years of looking over my options, I have narrowed down my choices of a plane to build to the Cozy Mark IV design. (shown below) Why build? It's cheaper and I could do it over time. It also results in more plane for your money. I figure if I build it, I'll not screw around and half-ass the job.

Why this plane? (1) It's cool looking, (2) It has four seats, (3) It's based upon a Burt Rutan design, and he has clearly been doing something right all these years, and (4) The plane's capabilities are equivalent to a factory built aircraft costing $100-$200K.
